ARK: Survival Evolved guide

How to add mods to an ARK: Survival Evolved server

Warp Hosting runs ARK: Survival Evolved (not ARK: Survival Ascended), with Steam Workshop mods added from your dashboard. Here's how it works.

Add a mod

  1. Open the Mods tab. Select your server in the dashboard and open Mods. It's also under Quick actions on the Overview.
  2. Find the mod. Type in the box that says "Search the Workshop, or paste a link" and press Search, or paste the mod's Steam Workshop link or item number and press Add mod.
  3. Add it. Press Add on the mod you want. If it needs other Workshop items, they're added for you, ahead of it in the list.
  4. Wait for Ready, then restart. The server downloads and checks each mod. When every mod shows Ready, restart the server: a server only loads mods that are Ready when it starts.

Load order

When two mods change the same thing, the higher one in the list wins. Use the ↑ and ↓ buttons to change the order; the new order applies at the next restart.

What players need

Players don't need to subscribe to your mods: ARK downloads them when they join. If a big mod's first download times out, joining again finishes it.

Maps and what isn't supported yet

Map mods and total conversions aren't supported yet: they show Blocked by the file check. Official maps, DLC maps included, are chosen in your server's Settings, under Map. Players need the DLC to play a DLC map, and Genesis: Part 2 needs 16 GB of memory.

Some older mods no longer work with the current version of ARK, so check a mod's recent comments on the Workshop before you add it.

ARK: Survival Evolved questions

Good to know.

How many mods can I add?

Up to 30, each up to 6 GB.

Is this ARK: Survival Ascended?

No. Warp Hosting runs ARK: Survival Evolved, so mods made for Survival Evolved work and mods for Survival Ascended don't.

Do players need to install the mods?

No. ARK downloads them when players join.
