RuneScape: Dragonwilds guide

How to set up a RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server

A dedicated server keeps your Dragonwilds world online for your group, even when you're not playing. Here's how to set one up with Warp Hosting.

Set up your world

  1. Order the server. Choose RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a location close to your group and a plan. A world holds up to six players, so Starter suits most groups.
  2. Name your world. In your server's Settings, set the World name. Players search for this exact name in the game. Changing it later starts a new world, and switching back loads the old one.
  3. Make yourself the owner. Copy your Player ID from the bottom of the in-game Settings menu into Your Player ID: the owner can ban and unban anyone. Add friends' Player IDs to Administrator Player IDs, separated by commas.
  4. Set your passwords. A World password is optional. Set your own Admin password too: it lets players manage the server in game from Pause > Settings > Server Management. Password boxes never show a saved password.
  5. Save and restart. Press Save configuration and restart the server. Settings take effect at the next start.

Join your world

In the game, open Worlds, then Public, search for your world name and enter the world password if you set one. The world list shows the first 16 characters of your Server name. PlayStation 5 players have joined Warp Hosting Dragonwilds servers this way too.

Bring an existing world

To move a world you already have, upload its .sav file to Saved/SaveGames over SFTP (create a login on your server's Files page), then set the World name to the file's name without .sav.

Updates and saves

With Automatic updates on (the default), the server installs the newest version of Dragonwilds each time it starts, so restart it after a game patch. The world saves every 5 minutes, stopping the server gives it time to save first, and your world is backed up whenever the server stops.
