PC or PS5: choose when you order
Enshrouded has no crossplay between PC and PS5, so each dedicated server is for one or the other. When you order an Enshrouded server, the Resources step asks "Who will play on it?": choose PlayStation 5. You can't change it after you order, so a group that plays on both needs a server for each.
Set up your PS5 server
- Order the server. Choose Enshrouded, the location closest to most of your players and a plan, then choose PlayStation 5 under "Who will play on it?". Every plan includes at least 12 GB of memory, and Community suits most groups.
- Set your passwords. Your server starts with random passwords that the dashboard doesn't show, so open your server's Settings and set your own. The Friend password lets players build and open chests, and the Admin password also lets you kick and ban. Turn on Guest access for a play-only password. All three must be different.
- Choose the difficulty and player slots. Pick Keen's Default, Relaxed, Hard or Survival preset, or Custom to set enemy damage, day and night length, loot and more. A server holds up to 16 players.
- Save and restart. Press Save configuration, then restart the server from the dashboard. Settings take effect at the next start.
- Join from your PS5. In Enshrouded on your PS5, find your server by its name in the game's server list and enter the Friend password (or the Guest password).
What happens behind the scenes
A PS5 server signs in to Keen Games' online service with the partner key Keen issues for PlayStation servers. It happens automatically every time the server starts, so there's nothing for you to set up.
Automatic updates are on by default, so the server installs the newest version of Enshrouded each time it starts. After a game update, restart the server so players on the new version can join. Your world is backed up every time the server stops, and you can restore a backup from the dashboard.
