Export your world
- Open the world's settings. In Minecraft for Windows, go to Play and press the pencil (Edit) button beside the world.
- Export it. At the bottom of the Game settings, press Export World and save the .mcworld file somewhere you'll find it.
On another Bedrock server, the world is a folder in worlds/ holding level.dat, levelname.txt and a db folder. Download it and zip the folder itself.
Upload it
- Check the World folder. In your server's Settings, World folder names the world the server runs (world unless you changed it). The world you upload replaces that one. To keep it as well, set World folder to a new name and press Save configuration first.
- Upload the .mcworld file. Open Files & SFTP, choose world-imports/ and press Upload to world-imports. Upload the .mcworld file as it is, or a zip of the world's folder. The browser takes files up to 96 MB; bigger worlds go to world-imports over SFTP (Generate SFTP credentials), up to 16 GB.
- Wait for the safety scan. Every upload is scanned before your server gets it. Press Refresh until the zip shows Passed safety scan.
- Stop and start the server. Press Stop, then Start. As the server starts, the world in the zip replaces the server's world, and the Console says when it's imported. The next backup keeps it.
Good to know
- Add-ons (.mcpack or .mcaddon files) go in addons/. Each start adds them to the world, with no world files to edit.
- Your server updates to the newest Bedrock version every time it starts, so players need an up-to-date game to join.
- Players on Windows, phones and tablets add the server by its address. Bedrock on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch can't add a server address, so console players can't join directly.
- If a zip can't be imported, the server starts with its current world and the Console says why. Fix the zip and upload it again.
